Designing templates

A template is the reusable design your endpoint renders. You build it in the editor; these are the pieces you control.

Layout

Thirteen layouts arrange the title, subtitle, and site label — from Classic and Centered to richer Pro layouts like Split, Big stat, Quote, and Code. Free plans use the six free layouts; the rest need Pro.

Tone & background

Pick a tone (violet, emerald, orange, slate) for a gradient or solid background, or supply your own colors and a background image.

Pattern

An optional decorative overlay (dots, grid, diagonal, crosshatch, lines, waves) with adjustable size (up to ×10) and angle. It renders identically in the editor preview and the final PNG.

Typography & alignment

Choose the display font (Manrope, Inter, or a mono face), left or centered alignment, and a title scale. A subtle watermark appears on free-plan renders.

How fields map to the API

Everything above is stored in the template. At request time you only override the text: title, subtitle, and site. That's the whole contract — design lives in the template, content lives in the URL.
